Brad Engel

President & Co-Owner

Brad Engel is the President of BRoS Properties and has over 13 years of apartment management experience.  Brad earned a Bachelor Science Finance degree from Canisius College in 1992, and received an MBA from St. Bonaventure University in 1995.  Brad and his brother Shawn started BRoS Properties with one double house at the University at Buffalo Main Street campus and have consistently expanded the concept of providing the largest organization and best run apartment homes in the area.

Russ Hiltermann

Chief Risk Officer & Co-Owner

Russ Hiltermann is the Chief Risk Officer and is in charge of Billings, Collections, Evictions and monitoring the Company’s e-mail account:  rentals@bufapt.com which tenants use to report any issues.  Russ Hiltermann owns his own pizza company, “The Pizza Place”, located in California, which began operating in 1989.  Russ had partnered up with Brad Engel in 2004 and is a 33.3% owner of all of the properties.  Russ can be reached at the Company’s e-mail address:  rentals@bufapt.com, or

Shawn Engel

Shawn Engel is the owner of Engel Properties/Management, whom BRoS Properties has hired as the Management Company, to act on its behalf to complete apartment showings, lease signings, maintenance repairs and is responsible for work order requests.  Shawn has over 15 years of apartment maintenance and management experience, and lives locally in the Buffalo area.  Shawn can be reached at
